Hispanic Beauty
By Makeda
Like all women of color, Hispanic women run the gamut from fair and blonde to dark-skinned and brunette. As with all women, the most important make-up tip is to make sure that your foundation matches your true skin tone, exactly.
Do not try to change your skin color with foundation - it will look artificial. Also, don't make the mistake of doing "too much" - though it's great to look ravishingly beautiful, that look won't be achieved by wearing garishly bright make-up.
Yellow-toned foundation and concealer are vital. Once again, don't try to change your skin color with foundation! You will look the most naturally beautiful when you work with your unique beauty, not against it.
If you are a light-skinned Hispanic beauty, choose soft pinks as your best blush choice. If you are a darker-skinned lovely, try deeper tones, such as plums, roses and reds. For eyeshadows, you have options. For a natural, daytime look, it's good to stick to colors like taupes and browns.
For a sexier, evening look, go for deeper shades, such as dark blues, golds, and smoky grays, even black. Be sure to use a good lengthening and volumizing mascara. For your lip colors, don't wear tackily bright colors. Go for more natural colors, like deep reds, soft browns and plums. Also, for the love of GOD, don't do the awful dark liner (using black to line your lips is the worst fashion mistake ever) and pale gloss or lipstick.
To have some fun with your unique beauty, here's some make-up options to try!
Smoky and Sexy
First, make sure to groom your brows. Use concealer to even out any redness and cover any blemishes. Apply a sheer coat of luminous foundation. Using a charcoal shadow, apply it to the lid and beneath the eye. Line inside the eyes with black pencil. (Keep in mind that a smoky eye can be done in other colors, such as purples/plums, browns, bronzes, and blues.)
To highlight, use a shimmery pearl color under the brows and in the inner corner of the eyes. Apply two or three coats of black mascara. Use a reddish blush to brighten your complexion. Apply a liberal coating of coral lipgloss for a sexy pout.
Romantic
Groom your brows and fill in any holes with an appropriate colored liner or shadow. Cover any redness, dark circles or blemishes with concealer and set with powder.
Using a plum shadow, dust it from your lashline to crease and smudge gently under the eyes. Apply thin black liner - liquid or gel. Curl your lashes and apply two coats of mascara. Apply a rosy blush and finish with a rosy pink lipgloss.
Have fun and learn to celebrate your unique beauty!
