Having taught Belly Dancing For Fun!!! classes since January of 1998, Tracey Vibert of TAV Creations organized the first Dancers' Bazaar in May 2000, with the intention of gathering all of the belly/middle eastern dancers in the Ottawa area together to swap, trade, and sell their new and used dance paraphernalia to new and upcoming students. TAV Creations, a custom sewing and design company, was able to provide many custom created costumes for local performers and students. With other teachers and entrepreneurs in the area importing goods from the middle east, as well as offering various services, the Dancers' Bazaar combines the efforts of many and reinforces the supportive atmosphere for which Ottawa's middle eastern dance community is known . The Dancers' Bazaar has developed into an eagerly anticipated semi-annual event, happening in the late winter and fall to meet the requests of new students in many of the local classes wanting to expand their belly dance costume pieces, music and general awareness of the local middle eastern dance scene. We welcome everyone to join us for a fun-filled afternoon of music, information and more sparkly stuff to catch the eye than can be imagined!
